February 8th, An Exotic Date To Remember
by Mark Greenawalt

Yes, art lovers, it's that magical time of the year again for the annual Exotic Art Show at the Alwun House in Phoenix.  Again this year I will be doing live bodypainting demonstrations at the event.  For last year's show I painted model Kay Kochman as the Queen of Hearts and this year I will be fortunate to work with her again and this time we'll add another "suit" to her portfolio by painting her as the Queen of Diamonds.  The show gets underway around 7:00pm on February 8th and additional information is available at www.alwunhouse.org .  During the course of the night I will have the time to paint approximately 4-5 bodypaintings and so far, I only have one confirmed model (Kristi from superkristi.com).  Send me an e-mail if you are interested in modeling for this event.  I plan to have pictures from the event on-line as soon as possible so check back soon.

Future-Class X Publishing's Model of the Year:  Alison
by Mark Greenawalt

Congratulations to Alison for winning the First Annual Model of the Year competition from Future-Class X Publishing.  Her talent and beauty as a model have directly attributed to some of the most intriguing images on this website.  Alison's image was included on three different months of the 2001 Bodypainting Calendar and she was responsible for bringing nearly 2,000 visitors to futureclassx.com on the day her bodypainting image was featured in Mystique Magazine.  She is the most-painted model on the site and she has always been prompt, enthusiastic, and a true joy to work with.  Professionalism is no stranger to Alison.  She has a portfolio of a thousand different looks and she has worked with some of the top photographers in the industry.  I am proud to have her as a part of my portfolio and welcome you to click on the images above for three new bodypaintings that I have completed with her.  Part of Alison's prize pack includes a $50.00 shopping spree on Amazon.com and bottle of Asti now that she is old enough to drink it.  (Note:  a special thanks goes out to photographers Don Crossland and Jim Goodwin for their assistance on the images above and to Ed Clapper for the TATTOO logo design).

Tucson Model In Paint
by Mark Greenawalt

We figured that it's been nearly 12 years since we first met in Sierra Vista, Arizona.  Lee was the sassy singer in a traveling rock band from Tucson and I was merely a pawn in the audience she was seducing.  Since then we've become close, albeit long distance, friends and have often tried to get together and write songs.  Last year I was able to entice her to be one of my models at the Alwun House Exotic art show.  I painted a liquid latex mural on her back of a beach scene at night.  Now, a year later, I have applied the liquid latex again, only this time it was in the form of a swimsuit for inclusion in my Swimsuit Illustrated portfolio with Deviant Liquid Latex.  Our shoot was in Tucson at a park called Agua Calienta and unfortunately the water was too cold to get in and there were curious people everywhere.  But despite it all, Lee did a wonderful job.

-Join my Painted Dessert Models club at Yahoo.  The winner of last month's poll for who you would most like to see bodypainted was Britney Spears.  So I'm gonna see if I can make it a reality for everybody.  This months poll is for who you would most like to see play the part of Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie.  If you would like to join, I welcome you to go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/painteddesertmodels/ and check it out.

-Every now and then, the ol' site needs a coat of paint.  This time I revamped the look of the bodypainting section.  Check it out and let me know what you think.  I've added a store page, a meet the models page, and a links page.  I think you'll find that it navigates a little easier and is a little more professional.

-I've been helping make-up artist Dori Randall get her website up and running and I welcome you to check it out at www.dorirandall.com and let her know what you think of it.  If you ever require the services of a make-up artist, I highly recommend Dori.
