The Busiest Shopping Day of the Year
by Mark Greenawalt

I am writing this newsletter on the day after Thanksgiving, reportedly the busiest shopping day of the year.  To all of you brave souls who fought the masses early today to find that perfect gift (but came home empty handed), we here at Future-Class X Publishing (the elves and I) have put together a new store of ideas at http://www.futureclassx.com/bodypaint/store.htm .  At the top of nearly everyone's wish list, of course, is the 2003 Desktop Bodypainting Calendar, but wait, there's more...

This year I have teamed up with Cafe Press and introduced a line of additional propaganda (shameless self promotion at it's finest).  First up there is a wall calendar now that features the same images as the desktop version.  There are also mouse pads, coffee mugs, T-shirts, and yes, even a thong that features the cheetah bodypainting.  I am also showcasing a cool selection of books from Amazon.com that relate to bodypainting, photography, and glamour modeling.  So come have a look and thanks for shopping at the FCXP store!  (Oh, did I mention the 2003 calendar...

The Lesser of Two Evils
by Mark Greenawalt

Halloween is a great season for the bodypainting industry and this year there were two very cool projects that I was involved with.  First, I was fortunate to work with Monika & William from Switch Entertainment once again for their Halloween bash called Cirque De Démons at Privé.  Two very beautiful models named Azure and Gaby were hired to be painted as she-devils for the event.  Their bodies were painted completely red with airbrushed Totally Tattoo paint from Badger Airbrush and their faces were also airbrushed with matching liquid make-up from Ben-Nye.  Click the picture above to see more images from the shoot.

The second project that I helped with was a Spiderman costume for Ed Clapper.  This costume was built from scratch and my part was to "bodypaint" the red & blue color onto the white lycra body suit.  The costume was a big hit at several parties and the kids in the neighborhood absolutely loved it on Halloween night.  To see a snapshot of the costume along with me in a goofy Zorro outfit, click here.
