2005 Bodypainting Calendars Now Available
by Mark Greenawalt

The 2005 models have arrived and they are showcased in my new calendar of bodypainting.  This is my 4th annual calendar and this year's edition includes 13 images, 15 models, and 6 photographers.  Congratulations to the following talented people who have been inducted into the documentation of my art form:

Models:  Cheyenne Silver, Nicole DeJean, Amy Richey, Brielle Dimitro, Dale O, Jill Valdisar, Anna Richardson, Anaiah, Kimber Leigh, Heather Keckler, Shanelle Steele, Brooke Black, Mandi Ray, and Kayla Rei.

Photographers:  Brad Garner, O'D, Don Crossland, Carlos Velarde, Ken Long, and Ben Kee.

This year I will only be offering the wall calendar instead of the desktop calendar since it provides a more detailed view of each of the images.  I may still be running a limited quantity of desk calendars on my inkjet printer for those of you who have been collecting them (e-mail me for information).

Thank you in advance to all of you who have ordered my calendars in the past and to those of you who plan to get this year's edition.  Your support is truly appreciated!  To see all of the images in this years calendar and hopefully to place your order, go to:

Sonik Magazine's 4th Anniversary Extravaganza
by Mark Greenawalt

Hundreds of attendees filled the Icehouse in downtown Phoenix to help Sonik Magazine celebrate it's four years of existence.  The festivities included everything from an independent movie premiere to live music, spinning DJ's to performance flairtenders, and fine dining to a mega fashion show.  I was thrilled to take part in the event that showcased some of the best talent the valley has to offer in the way of make-up artists, hair stylists, and beautiful models.  For the event I had the opportunity to do two bodypaintings for the headlining event, the Sonik Magazine fashion runway show.  It was the first time that I had ever worked with model Kimber Leigh although I had seen her picture in numerous photographer portfolios.  I liked one shot of Kimber taken by photographer Carlos Velarde during the fashion show so much that I have included it in my 2005 Bodypainting Calendar.  I also painted Jill, a beautiful "girl next door" who doesn't typically model, but did a fantastic job and I look forward to hopefully working with her again.  For the rest of the story and more pictures from the event go to:

Minions Attend McFarlane Toys Grand Opening
by Mark Greenawalt

I have had another article published in a magazine.  The article is about the grand opening of the McFarlane Toy store that I attended last month here in Ahwatukee.  I submitted the article to an upstart magazine here in town called Pocket Magazine.  It is a quarter of the size of a typical magazine (thus the name), but it is packed with community and nightlife information for all of the surrounding areas.  To read the article, please visit Minions Attend McFarlane Toys Grand Opening
