Welcome to the "Queen of Spades" bodypainting webpage. This was my third body painting and it features a playing card painted on the model, Kay of Chandler. This project took a full day in September 2000. It took five hours to complete the painting itself and an additional two hours was spent on the photoshoot. Luckily, Kay was extremely patient and understanding throughout it all.
The idea behind the image was to make the top face of the card become the models face, like it's popping out of the card. Lots of planning went into this project and several props were included to spruce up the final product including my wife's homecomming queen crown, a vampire cape, and a real sword. The paints used on the card were Ben Nye face paints. Large areas of color were applied with an airbrush and the finer detail was brushed on. The shiny black paint that looks like a wetsuit was liquid latex paint applied with a sponge.
